Collaborate and Sew

Who Are We?

Sewing for Charity Australia are a group of volunteers who sew and donate requested items to our chosen charities and community organisations in Australia. For more information on our current projects visit our Facebook page.

Help Us

Attend an event, sew at home, donate supplies…we welcome all people from any background with any ability at any age. We also welcome contact from businesses and media wishing to support and promote our organisation and assist us with delivering as many handmade items as possible to those who need some handmade love.

Let Us Help You

We are regularly looking for new charities and community groups to partner with. We can assist with sewing days, fundraisers and more. Contact us for more information.

Beaudesert Quilters

A huge THANK YOU to the Beaudesert Quilters for having us out to their group today. We loved meeting everyone and collaborating for a cause! There are some seriously talented sewers out there and together they managed to sew 19 capes...

Today we headed to the Sunshine Coast for a funfilled day of new friendships and heartfelt creations.

Our sewing days give us an opportunity to get together and create with purpose while sharing our stories and having many laughs.

Thank you to Di for hosting and thank you to our girls Margaret, Kim, Pauline, and Gaewyn for sewing and cutting and to Kim's mum for kid wrangling and clipping and turning our Snuggles!

We had another lovely morning at Bethania Community Centre.

Thank you to Diane, Pia and Judith for bringing in bears and bags they had sewn along at home.

Judith and I got our sewjo on (well...mine was perhaps more of a sewno but Judy was on fire!) and sewed up 15 more snuggles.

Alyssa and Sarah helped with the clipping and turning and Dawn crocheted away.

Was also lovely to meet Tracy and chat about how we can work together to help our veterans experience some handmade love.

Thank you to everyone who came.

Tomorrow I'll be on the Sunshine Coast running another sewing day...stay tuned for more updates!

An update on our April project...

We are completely overwhelmed by the support we received for our April project.

Final numbers aren't yet in because we are STILL packing but here is a sneak peek of everyone's hard work.

In these kits are:

1397 sewn items (shields, bags and liners - bags not pictured)
763 purchased items (snaplocks, soaps, undies, washers)

127 kits means 127 young women who will be able to comfortably and cleanly continue their schooling each month.

This is all thanks to our amazing volunteers and supporters!

Final numbers for kits heading out will be in this month's newsletter so make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss out!
